Independent Bottlers

Independent bottlers (IBs) are companies that do not distill their own spirit but purchase casks from distilleries, often age those casks, and release them under their own labels. They allow drinkers to experience distilleries in unique, limited-edition ways, often featuring single-cask and cask-strength expressions that are typically un-chill-filtered and naturally coloured. Some distilleries rarely or never bottle their spirit so IBs can the only way to enjoy fantastic whisky we would otherwise miss out on.  Glenburgie is a personal favourite that is rarely found outside IBs.
