Campbeltown
Once considered the whisky capital of the world, Campbeltown once housed over 30 distilleries. The region faced such decline that Campbeltown was at risk of losing its status as an official whisky region until J & A Mitchell and Co Ltd revived the Glengyle Distillery, adding Kilkerran to the sole remaining Springbank and Glen Scotia distilleries.
Campbeltown whiskies are varied and full of flavour. Hints of salt, smoke, fruit, vanilla and toffee mingle in whiskies of robust and rich character.
