Highland Park 22 Year Old 2003 Thompson Bros

This 2003 vintage single malt from Highland Park is brought to us by independent bottler Thompson Bros. The whisky spent a generous 22 years maturing in a refill sherry butt, yielding a total outturn of 336 bottles.

Official Tasting Notes

Nose: Nutella poured into the inside of a Kinder Bueno a fresh loaf of malted sourdough, cranberries, magnolia, evaporated milk, plum crumble, a touch of sherry wood sulfur and of course heather.

Palate: Cacao nibs, charred pineapple, brandy butter, lots of fruit and lots of chocolate bound together by a gentle vein of smoke, kind of like a peated crunchie bar.

Finish: Lasts quite a while. Expect orange creme (quality street), salted pretzel, a coffee-like bitterness, while peat softly rounds it all up.
